Spring Meeting 2009

Tourette Scotland held their 2009 Spring Meeting on 25th April in Robert Douglas Memorial Hall, Scone, Perthshire.

It was a beautiful sunny (and even warm) day!  The weather is good in Scotland sometimes!!!

Over 40 people attended of all ages.  There were old faces (Dave?!!) and new faces as always.  Pat Sinclair, Dot Achenbach and John Davidson in particular using our "Meet and Greet" service were kept very busy.  It is usually so daunting (particularly for people coming along to a meeting for the first time) to walk into a room full of strangers so Pat came up with this idea and it is working well and seems to be appreciated.

There were arts and crafts available and both young and old let their creative juices flow.  There's some talent out there!

A Wii competition led by Michael and Ged was also held.  People had to see what score they could get over 3 events on Sonic's Olympics.  This proved pretty popular with many and a mum won with her son in second place (oh dear!) and one of our younger members taking third place.

Bikeworx, Dundee www.bikeworx.com brought along a number of fantastic bicycles for people to try out which was much appreciated.

Our Information stall ably manned by Ruth proved very popular as always and included some free information and goodies to take away.

Dave Barnett was chief tea lady for the day and did a sterling job though his jokes left something to be desired!

Following the raffle and prize giving we set up a Questions and Answers panel which included John Davidson, Dot Achenbach, Patricia Sinclair, Debbie Barnett and Janice Mylan.  There were plenty of questions and discussion which we hope helped those attending:  NB: These will be posted on the website for everyone's benefit shortly.

There was still time for a quick chat after this and then people said their goodbyes for now.

Thanks to all our volunteers and organisers for another successful day.

We look forward to the next event.  Watch this space!!!
